19th Symposium in Group Analysis Athens 2026 – announcement

From negative mirroring to tradition, creativity and innovation: Group as Pharmakós

26-30 August 2026, Athens, Greece

The 19th Symposium of the Group Analytic Society International will be hosted in Athens (Greece) in collaboration with the Institute of Group Analysis Athens (IGAA).

This Symposium invites you to explore tradition, creativity, and innovation in group analytic theory, method and application. A new transformative ground will be developed in a city so ancient and modern at the same time.

The theme of the Symposium is related to the myth of Pharmakós that reminds us to consider the contradictions, paradoxes and inherent duality that humankind is facing during this difficult time.

Don’t worry about the weather, the temperature in the last week of August is not so high and every space at the venue is acclimatised.
